Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef slices by mixing them with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized (about 8–10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, increase heat to high and add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add marinated beef in a single layer; sear without stirring for about 1 minute before tossing.
  5. Once cooked through, return caramelized onions to the wok and pour any remaining marinade over the mixture. Drizzle with sesame oil and stir to combine.
