1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon garam masala
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon grated ginger
4 cloves garlic, minced
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 can (14 oz) tomato puree
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon chili powder, adjust to heat preference
Salt and sugar to taste
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
2 garlic cloves, finely minced or grated
Instructions
Marinate the chicken: Combine yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, turmeric, ground cumin, smoked paprika, grated ginger, minced garlic, and salt in a bowl; add chicken and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Cook the chicken: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat; sauté chopped onion until translucent. Stir in tomato paste and then add tomato puree; simmer.
Make the sauce: Add heavy cream, chili powder, salt, and sugar to the skillet; mix well.
Cook marinated chicken: Add chicken to the sauce; cook on low heat for about 20-25 minutes until fully cooked.
Prepare garlic drizzle: Mix mayonnaise, plain yogurt, minced garlic cloves, and lemon juice in a small bowl.
