  • 6 cups peeled, sliced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons flour (for filling)
  • ½ cup flour (for topping)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of flour until combined.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into the unbaked pie crust evenly.
