  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • ½ cup all purpose white flour
  • ½ cup dark cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese (at room temp)
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8 x 8 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Stir in eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until creamy. Add orange food coloring to achieve the desired hue.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared dish. Dollop cheesecake mixture on top and swirl gently. Pour remaining brownie batter over and swirl again.
  5. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
