  • 12 tablespoons mild chili powder
  • 2 pounds ground beef (ground round or sirloin)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 4 ounces spaghetti or angel hair pasta, broken into thirds
  • 1 can (15 ounces) chili beans, undrained
  • 1 can (46 ounces) tomato juice
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add diced onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add chili beans and tomato juice to the pot, followed by granulated sugar. Stir to combine.
  4. Once boiling, add the broken spaghetti. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes until pasta is tender.
  5. Serve hot with shredded cheddar cheese, corn chips, and sour cream as desired.
