  • 20 g fresh yeast (or 1 packet/7g active dry yeast)
  • 1 cup (240g) milk
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup (50g) sugar (divided)
  • 5 small/medium apples
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Frying oil

Instructions

  1. Warm milk to about 100°F – 110°F and combine with yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar; let it sit until foamy (10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the yeast mixture with flour, eggs, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and salt using an electric mixer until combined.
  3. Cover the bowl and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (45–70 minutes).
  4. Peel and cube apples; gently fold into the risen batter.
  5. Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Spoon batter into hot oil and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Serve dusted with powdered sugar.
