  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water and lemon juice to form dough; chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook sweet potatoes: Boil peeled chunks until tender; mash until smooth.
  3. Mix filling: Combine mashed sweet potatoes with butter, brown sugar, eggs, spices, evaporated milk, and vanilla until well-blended.
